Paulina Siaw-Akoto, a well-known, seasoned health specialist, has advised women against abusing emergency contraception because it may lead to cancer in the future.  Mrs. Akoto made thes e educative submissions while speaking to students at the just-ended Red Conversation by the School of Communication of Wisconsin International University College Ghana, (WIUC-Gh) on Wednesday, 15 February 2023. She stressed that frequent use of emergency contraceptives was harmful to young women with conditions that may last a lifetime. “Frequent use of emergency contraception can result in increased side-effects, such as menstrual irregularities, although their repeated use poses no known health risks,” she noted. She explained that just like other oral contraceptives, it worked through the increase of hormones in the body increasing the risk of users’ contracting cancers, especially breast cancer which was common in Ghana. Russia's richest 22 billionaires have lost $39 billion in one day after the invasion of Ukraine

National Cathedral will enhance Ghana’s spiritual growth, social cohesion —Asantehene

  The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has lauded the government for its decision to construct a National Cathedral, saying the edifice will contribute significantly to Ghana’s spiritual growth and social cohesion. “We are a religious nation, therefore, the monumental structure is expected to add up to the gains made… to promote solidarity, unity and harmony amongst the people,” he noted. The traditional authorities, he said, would provide the needed support for the successful completion of the project as it sought to serve the interest of the nation. The Asantehene said this, in a speech read on his behalf by the Asafohene, Asafo Boakye Agyemang Bonsu, at a fundraising in Kumasi, organised by the Board of Trustees, National Cathedral of Ghana, to solicit funds towards the construction of the facility.
